Who we are
MyBestPrice ("we", "us") is a marketplace being developed in Sri Lanka, at mybestprice.lk. Until our company is registered, the person responsible for your data is [FOUNDER FULL NAME], contactable at hello@mybestprice.lk. Once the company is registered, it will take over this responsibility and we will update this notice.
What we collect
Only what you enter in our registration or waitlist forms: your name, mobile number, optional email, district, the categories you're interested in, seller type and business name (sellers), and your answers to our short research questions.
Why we collect it
- To contact you about joining the MyBestPrice beta and send your invite.
- To plan the beta (for example, which categories and districts to prioritise).
- To understand how people buy and sell today and what pricing would be fair (only in combined, anonymous form).
We use your data only with your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the form.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share your phone number with other users. On MyBestPrice, contact details are shared only after both buyer and seller agree on a price. We don't use your data for advertising by others.
Who processes it
Your form answers are stored by our form provider, [Tally / Google], which may store data outside Sri Lanka. We may contact you via SMS, phone or WhatsApp.
How long we keep it
- Seller registrations: until you join the beta (your details then move into your MyBestPrice account), or deleted within 3 months after the beta ends if you don't join.
- Buyer waitlist: until your invite is sent and you join, or deleted within 6 months after the beta opens if you don't join.
- Anonymous, combined statistics (for example, "40% of sellers chose…") may be kept.
Your rights
Under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw your consent at any time, by emailing hello@mybestprice.lk. We'll respond within [21] days.
Security
Access to registration data is limited to the founder, protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll update the date above and tell you if the change is significant.
